Going the Extra Mile…

A ring was passed down to a daughter from her mother – who was lost too soon.  The ring needed repair, so the daughter took the ring to be professionally inspected – only to be told it could not be fixed.  The daughter held on to all the wonderful memories of her mother wearing the ring, and she didn’t give up hope to have the ring restored.

Finally, a plane ticket and over 1,000 miles later, one last jeweler took a look.  The repairs and needed changes were believed to be possible!

Thanks to a special technique of soldering under water, the delicate ring was protected while being resized.  The old, worn pearls were removed and replaced with new, beautifully matched pearls.  Careful polishing and cleaning gave the ring the perfect finishing touch.

Although most jewelers are very well trained, techniques and technology can still vary from jeweler to jeweler.  When sentimental value is more important than anything else, don’t give up!
